No Age
Nouns
(Sub Pop)

Sub Pop is the perfect home for this duo out of Los Angeles. On "Miner", the bombastic beginning of the LP, aggressive guitars and showering cymbals pummel you into submission like a monsoon, similar to Sonic Youth, Mudhoney and TAD. What separates No Age from those heady grunge days however is their sense of melody. Like label-mates Les Thugs, No Age combines sharp punk attacks (“Eraser” and “Teen Creeps”) with more subtle approaches to noise like the great Deerhunter and The Helio Sequence (see “Keechie” , “Things I Did When I Was Dead” and “Impossible Bouquet” for proof). An absolute stunner of a debut and highly recommended for fans of any of the above!
