American Analog Set
" Updates"
(Tiger Style)

This CD is awesome! It's a six-song remix EP that blends the moody melodies of AAS with some excellent abstract electronic drum work. Track one ("Desert Eagle "All I want for Christmas remix) starts with a nice sounding vibraphone that is all alone for the first minute or so and an off time drum beat kicks in. It gets loud but stays subtle. Track 2 sounds more familiar. Very straight forward jams with vibraphones and keyboards that keeps ya head bobbin at a constant feel good tempo. The next song starts out a little abrasive. With distorted electronic drums and noises (reminiscent of U-Ziq) it creeps into another steady mid-tempo melody. Track 4 starts very hip hop-ish. Programmed very nicely, with great vocal and drum loops. It starts pretty mid-tempo and finally kicks into a full out drum and bass extravaganza. It does sound too awesome! The last two songs were done by Styrofoam. He has these great casio-esque keyboards with very driving and head nodding drum programming. This was a solid six song release and just proves that American Analog Set just can't fail. Remixes were done by American Analog Set, Her Space Holiday, and Styrofoam.
