The Faint
"Danse Macabre"
( Saddle Creek)

The Cure's Robert Smith, Duran Duran, Dead or Alive and Trent Reznor are having a few drinks at a club in Omaha, Nebraska one evening. Just as they are discussing putting together a new-wave, electronic supergroup, the Faint takes the stage. They are all blown away, as this is exactly what they could have hoped for! All bad jokes aside, while the Faint's third full-length release, Danse Macabre is definitely influenced by the aforementioned, it stands on its own as a great album of today. Danse Macabre is darker and even more synth-based than its 1999 predecessor, Blank Wave Arcade. Totally danceable and strikingly catchy, this is an awesome synth-pop record. The Faint are continuing to improve their sound, bringing you the best of early 80's new wave combined with more attitude, confidence and power.
