Knife in the Water
" Crosspross Bells"
(Peek-a-Boo)
Knife in the Water present a succinct but sweet gem for the post indie rock
generation. Mixing a bit of Pavement with some No Depression, Knife in the
Water weave a web of minimalist country tinged pop songs that have the presence
of Low (not in a bad way). 'A Lesson' is by far the best song on the EP, with
pleasant vocal harmonies and a down home country meets big city rocker musical
backing. I guess the best way to describe it would be lonely, depressed, subtle
Americana. For fans of Kingsbury Manx, or the southern Americana sound, Knife
in the Water are not to be missed.
