Yo La Tengo
" Nuclear War" EP
(Matador)
There is a line. I will draw it. The line, in question, is that odd intangible
between great music and "...what in God's name
" Yo La Tengo
has always been inside the lines, maintaining that slow steady climb toward
prolific band status, and then they go and release an EP with the same Sun
Ra song on it four times. Oh, I'm sorry, it's also done in four very different,
yet agonizingly horrific, ways. There's not much else to say about it, with
the exception of the fact that I never want to hear the words Nuclear War
in a song ever again. Better luck next time guys.
