Peachcake/Less Pain Forever
split
(Western Tread)
CD - $9
Featuring five songs each from two musically diverse duos from Phoenix. Less Pain Forever, the founders of phenomerock, lead off first with five tracks of pure indie-rock anthems. Making the most of their two-man set up, James Karnes spearheads a guitar-riggered-with-bass-contraption and belts out high toned vocals much like The Shins or Modest Mouse. Christopher Pomerenke (Runaway Diamonds) does the near impossible by playing the drums and keyboards and singing at the same time...no, seriously. Peachcake take the second five tracks and the dance party kicks in with ecstatic power-pop electronica! Stefan Pruett leads the way by shaking his money maker while he rocks the microphone, leaving Jon O'Keefe to man the samplers, backing vocals and the keytar! Upbeat positivity drives the sing-song melodies out past the strip malls for a desert boon dock rave where all are welcome to feel sexy!
