GARDEN - Bootleg CD/LP (Epitaph)
The Garden, experimental punk duo made of twin brothers Wyatt and Fletcher Shears and their new album Bootleg is available on vinyl and CD via Epitaph Records on October 23. Recorded in Los Angeles and produced by Wyatt and Fletcher, the 14-track album is packed with The Garden's eclectic instrumentation and visceral production work. Formed in 2011 by twin brothers Wyatt Shears and Fletcher Shears, The Garden built their signature Vada Vada style from the raw foundation of bass, drums, and eerie electronic textures. Their minimalist approach delivers an explosive, genre-defying sound that is equal parts chaotic, precise, and unmistakably original.
AVALANCHES - No Bad Memories CD/LP (Astralwerks)
The Avalanches return with their fourth album No Bad Memories, a new album inspired by the simultaneously magical and unsettling ways advertising, technology and pop culture become woven into the fabric of our memories. No Bad Memories is an ambivalent love letter to the nostalgic pull of commercial jingles, start-up chimes and forgotten audio logos. Featuring collaborators including Karen O, Jamie XX, Portraits of Tracy + many more.
ANDERSON PAAK & CORDAE - Heavy Is The Crown (Apeshit / Hi Level)
Anderson.Paak and Cordae have been operating on the same wavelength for years. What started as pure chemical reaction on 2019's RNP slowly turned into one of hip-hop's most natural, low-ego partnerships, fueled by back-and-forth gems like Two Tens and Summer Drop and a series of dynamic TV performances that felt more like two best friends hanging out than a polished routine. On their debut collaborative album, Heavy Is The Crown, that organic bond gets the full-length treatment it's always deserved. At it's core, the project is a tightrope walk between serious real-life stakes and uncompromising fun. The title isn't just bravado-it speaks directly to the shared weight both artists carry as the primary providers and anchors for their families. But instead of letting that pressure crush the vibe,.Paak and Cordae lean into each other. Meeting as total equals,.Paak's elastic, soul-drenched musicality anchors Cordae's razor-sharp lyricism, allowing both to unpack the heavy reality of success and family responsibility without ever losing their spark.
CAROLINE ROSE - Gentling The Horse At The Walt Whitman Mall CD/LP (Suck Records)
Fishtailing across a trimmed sod lawn, the parking lot of a box-store strip mall, a fast food drive-thru-it's a hyperreal Americana fantasy that calls Caroline Rose (she/they) home on Gentling the Horse at the Walt Whitman Mall. The release doubles as the debut of SUCK records, the LA based artist's own imprint - a fitting next form for an enigmatic musician whose work resists settling into one shape. Gentling the Horse at the Walt Whitman Mall stretches the ordinary into the uncanny. The record pairs sharply observed, memoiristic songwriting with expansive guitar textures that render the everyday with violent clarity and mythic scale. Beneath it's melodic sweep and signature hooks runs a current of violence and American dream leakage. It's Ennio Morricone with an AR15: surf guitars, spaghetti westerns, and suburban dread colliding until they become their own sharp vernacular.
SHABAZZ PALACES - It's A Style Sport CD/LP (SUB POP)
With bravado and precision, ever-evolving musician, producer, and rapper Ishmael Butler returns as Shabazz Palaces with It's a Style Sport. It's A Style Sport stays true to Shabazz Palaces' form in it's daring show of experimental hip-hop and free-form poetry, while revealing a more reflective and upfront side of the Seattle musician. It's a Style Sport finds Butler compiling what he's learned from his storied career into a playful, shimmering portal, again proving himself an artist of chameleonic ambition, fueled by curiosity, courage, and a limitless imagination. The album is the product of a collaborative, communal effort with many of Butler's touring band members: Evan Flory-Barnes on upright and electric bass; Thaddeus Turner on guitar, keyboards, and vocals; Kassa Overall on drums; Gerald Turner on bass and vocals; Marquetta Miller on vocals; and Carlos Overall on saxophone. Butler's longtime friend and collaborator Erik Blood provided instrumentation, production, and mixing. On It's a Style Sport, a visage of Butler's past lives as a rapper and performer is flung up against his contemporary persona, taunting and illuminating. At it's core, It's a Style Sport is an ode to the rap game of years past, when the playfully competitive ambition drove the genre to always outdo, outrun, and out-finesse your peers.
OLIVIA TREMOR CONTROL - The Same Place LP (Elephant 6)
The third and final full-length, double album from the Elephant 6 Recording Co. co-founders. A legend is a heavy thing to carry. It has been 27 years since the last album by The Olivia Tremor Control. In that time, they have influenced countless bands, been the subject of documentaries and biographies, and now, finally, improbably, there is a third Olivia Tremor Control album. Work began on the album as far back as 2005 but progress was slowed by other projects, other responsibilities, but in 2010, the band of Hart, Doss, John Fernandes, Pete Erchick, Eric Harris, and Derek Almstead began to record. By 2011 The Olivia Tremor Control had reemerged as a fully active band and added AJ Griffin to the lineup as well as touring members Scott Spillane and Robbie Cucchario. The band was now recording constantly and were fast on their way to completing the album. Then in the summer of 2012, Bill Doss suddenly, tragically passed away. With everyone still in shock and grieving, work on The Same Place came to a halt. Every attempt to resume the project stalled until 2023, when, after watching the Elephant 6 Documentary, Athens producer/musician Jason NeSmith came on board to help. In 2024, with the album nearly finished, Will Hart unexpectedly passed away. Drawing on Will's extensive collections of notes, The Same Place was finally completed by the surviving band members, the broader Elephant 6 community, and producers Derek Almstead, Jason NeSmith, and Ron Kwasman. The Same Place does everything The Olivia Tremor Control ever did well. It also does it better, and goes further, than anyone could have imagined was possible.
SURPRISE CHEF - Frogs In A Pond LP (Concord)
Surprise Chef's album Frogs In A Pond is an examination into, and an expression of, a shared human experience. Based in Australia, the quintet found inspiration from European film composers working in the late '60s and early '70s. The music expresses musical themes with a cinematic landscape of moods and feelings that evoke emotion without the listener having watched the film for which the music was composed, pushing boundaries that dictate a unique perspective to their music.
YEAH YEAH YEAHS - Hidden In Pieces: Live (At The Royal Albert Hall) CD/LP (Secretly Canadian)
For twenty-five years, Yeah Yeah Yeahs have built one of modern rock's most beloved catalogs. Hidden In Pieces Live at the Royal Albert Hall gathers songs from across their history and reimagines them through intimate arrangements featuring strings, piano and double bass. Recorded over two nights at London's Royal Albert Hall and including performances from San Diego, Chicago, New York and Mexico City, the album finds Karen O, Nick Zinner and Brian Chase presenting songs from every era of the band's career in a new light. Conceived as part of the band's Hidden In Pieces tour and featuring arrangements by music director, arranger and conductor Jherek Bischoff, the collection moves from staples like "Maps," "Gold Lion" and "Zero" to more recent highlights including "Blacktop" and "Spitting Off the Edge of the World."
DEAFHEAVEN - At Work In The Fields Of The Bomb 12” (Roadrunner Records)
Deafheaven have surprise released a new EP, At Work in the Fields of the Bomb. Recorded with producer Arthur Rizk, the three song EP is led by the opening track “Hunter,” which features a short film created by the band’s own George Clarke along with director Nico Poalillo and Pulse Films. At Work in the Fields of the Bomb borrows its title and central concept from Robert Del Tredici’s photo book documenting the ordinary places and people involved in the production of nuclear weapons. The EP explores the unsettling contrast between the unimaginable consequences of the bomb and the mundane actions that make such destruction possible, focusing on the choices and systems that lead us toward irreversible moments. It considers how catastrophe can emerge from seemingly ordinary details—and how, once extinction becomes possible, there is ultimately no one left to witness it”

JOSH JOHNSON - Animative LP (Nonesuch)
Animative, Johnson’s third album under his own name and his first for International Anthem/Nonesuch, arrives to turn up the wattage on his artistry. More than any release to date, Animative shows why musicians and a growing community of listeners know this Chicago native and longtime L.A. resident to be one of the most imaginative electroacoustic musicians today, not to mention one of the most stunningly versatile. On Animative, the harmonically rich, loops-inflected sound Johnson has been developing — first with a full band on 2020’s Freedom Exercise, then on 2024’s immersive solo album, Unusual Object — comes together in a life-affirming LP of lowkey improvised brilliance and technological ambition.
BABEHOVEN - I See Them I See Me LP (DOUBLE DOUBLE WHAMMY)
Babehoven, the Hudson NY based indie folk duo of Maya Bon and Ryan Albert, return with their third studio album, I See Them, I See Me. Through fourteen tracks that crackle with clear-eyed vision, Babehoven has crafted a transcendent new collection that gets back to the heart of what makes music meaningful and life worth living. For the first time in Babehoven's prolific output - which includes, most recently, 2024's Water's Here In You - Bon and Albert blew the doors open on their process, inviting in three different engineers to capture the songs in four different studios. The all-star line-up includes Sam Evian, Kevin Copeland, and Phil Weinrobe, who also acted as co-producer. Much of I See Them, I See Me was live-tracked with a six-person ensemble, with Weinrobe instilling a philosophy of no playback, no headphones, and no preparation to create maximal presence in the room.
CLAUD - Me & The Music LP (Dead Oceans)
Does everything have to feel so heavy all the time? Claud Mintz fights with this question all the time. Not polite little tiffs, either: Big, dragout, existential wars, the kind that might push you to eventually change the tenor of your whole life. The 10 songs on their rich and resplendent third album Me and the Music find the 27-year-old Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter-producer grappling with that question and coming up, triumphantly, with something close to an answer: Things can be heavy, but that doesn't mean you can't have fun. Things can be heavy, but that beer in your hand isn't-why not hold it aloft for a moment, sing along with the friends surrounding you, forget your troubles for the length of a perfect indie-pop song? Me and the Music is Claud's first album in three years, since 2023's acclaimed Supermodels.
ORCHESTRA BAOBAB - Made In Senegal LP (Strut Records)
Strut proudly presents the first release in almost a decade from the legendary Senegalese group Orchestra Baobab with Made In Senegal. Featuring an organic evolution of musicians including sons, nephews and long time collaborators carrying the torch from the original lineup Made In Senegal features new tracks as well as reimagined classics from the Baobab repertoire.
JULIEN BAKER - Sprained Ankle LP [Reissue/2014] (Ferdinand Records)
In 2014 Sprained Ankle arrived on Bandcamp with a drawing Julien Baker made herself standing in as it's only artwork; no label, no plan, just 9 great songs. When 6131 Records signed the album, that drawing gave way to the gray portrait now inseparable from the record, the image most people know it by. For the first time, the original cover is available with this new pressing. Twelve years on, Sprained Ankle returns to where it started.
ADEBOWALE & THE PIONEERS - Kilofese LP (All-Town Sound)
When we were approached by Adebowale Osunnibu with what would become Kilofese, we knew he had something special. Aside from Fela Kuti's own band, Egypt 80 (lead now by his son, Seun Kuti), it is astoundingly rare to find Afrobeat music being made in it's home of Lagos, Nigeria. In fact, Adebowale performed with Egypt 80 for many years on Baritone Saxophone, deepening his understanding of the music he grew up listening to. This is why when he told us that he was crafting his own music, bringing his voice to the forefront, and working with the next generation of students in Lagos, we couldn't wait to hear it. Given his training in the most long-standing Afrobeat band of all time, we shouldn't have been surprised with what he sent us: an album packed with powerful vocals, cascading horn lines, and relentlessly driving grooves.
HOLY MOTORS - Heaven's Night CD/LP (Wharf Cat Records)
Holy Motors' third studio album, Heaven's Night, pairs the band's signature Western dreamscapes with pop hooks and new-wave textures that mark new territory for the Estonian band. Notably, there is a new sweetness to the collection of songs on Heaven's Night, which features characters who step away from the doomed sunsets and outback melancholy of 2020's Horse. As the band puts it, their new sound is sweet as dripping honey, sad like summer rain. While fans might notice greater accessibility in these songs, Heaven's Night is still a classic Holy Motors record with all the attendant enigma.
MICHAEL KIWANUKA - Fudge LP (Geffen Records)
Fudge is Michael Kiwanuka’s most free and instinctive album to date. A vibrant, deeply human record shaped by spontaneity, emotion, and creative joy. It’s loose, soulful, and alive with the kind of magic that only happens when the process leads the way. The album was inspired by the encouraging words of the late Chick Corea, whose interview Michael stumbled upon during the pandemic lockdown, urging him to embrace what he loved without worrying about what others might think.
MICHAEL NAU - Popfly CD/LP (Suicide Squeeze)
By the time Michael Nau completed Popfly, the songs felt less like compositions than companions. Arriving in fragments, notebook lines, and fleeting observations, these pieces kept company for years until taking their final form. The result is one of Nau's most openhearted, expansive records, both homespun and otherworldly at once. Radiant folk melodies, tape-warped textures, and flashes of everyday wonder coexist in perfect balance on Popfly. Nau has never been a songwriter who forces songs into existence. Instead, he follows them, trusting intuition over agenda and allowing songs to gradually reveal themselves. Writing and recording often blur together, with melodies evolving before lyrics are finished and stray recordings forming the basis for new songs.
ADRIAN YOUNGE - Midnight Hour: Lost Tapes JID028 LP (Jazz Is Dead)
If the name The Midnight Hour isn't immediately familiar, the music almost certainly is. Ali Shaheed Muhammad is a founding member of A Tribe Called Quest, one of the most beloved groups in hip hop history. Adrian Younge is the Los Angeles-based composer, multi-instrumentalist, and producer who has shaped the sound of some of the most critically admired records of the past two decades. Together, they have been architects of the sound that serious listeners point to when they try to describe what great music feels like. The music they had been making together had a life of it's own. By 2018, it had become The Midnight Hour: their self-titled debut album, recorded to tape with a live rhythm section and a full orchestra, and released to widespread acclaim. In 2020, the duo were deep into sessions for a second album. But then the world shut down, the recordings were shelved. The album never came and remained unfinished and unheard. But now, via their Jazz Is Dead label, The Lost Tapes have been unearthed.
BRIAN ENO - Another Day LP [Reissue/2005]
Another Day on Earth (2005) was Brian Eno's first song-based album since Nerve Net in 1992 and remains one of his most acclaimed solo records. It featured a young Jon Hopkins alongside long-standing collaborators Nell Catchpole, J. Peter Schwalm and Leo Abrahams, with lyrics co-written by Michel Faber and Danny Hillis. The album was launched with a public conversation between Eno and the writer Michael Bracewell at the Marble Palace in St Petersburg and it's cover photograph was taken by Eno himself in Beijing, during his first Chinese audio installation in the city's Ritan Park. Following Warner Bros' purchase of Hannibal Records in 2006, the license for Another Day on Earth lapsed in 2008 and the album has been unavailable outside Japan ever since.

OUTKAST - Idlewild LP [Reissue/2006] (Sony Legacy)
The soundtrack to the duo's feature film blends hip-hop, soul, funk, and jazz into one of OutKast's most adventurous projects.
JOSH ROUSE - Museums & Women LP (New West Records)
Part songwriter, part street photographer, Josh Rouse steps out on his new album as an itinerant documentarian capturing the drifters, dreamers, and passing strangers who slip in and out of our lives, and finding himself somewhere in the frame too. Museums and Women is Rouse at his most hopeful and romantic, balancing casual poetry with wry humor across a collection of characters who are searching but never desperate, longing but never lonely. Recorded in Nashville with longtime production partner Brad Jones (Chuck Prophet, Hayes Carll), the album came together almost by accident resulting in loose, unplanned studio sessions with Rouse on guitar, Jones on bass, and Fred Eltringham (Sheryl Crow, The Chicks) on drums, cut live and fresh, morning sessions followed by same-day overdubs.
SAMARA JOY - Live At The Blue Note L.A. CD/LP (Verve)
Recorded during Samara Joy and her band's sold-out April 2026 run at Blue Note Los Angeles, Live at the Blue Note L.A. captures the six-time Grammy-winner in an intimate club setting, bringing her extraordinary vocal Command, warmth and spontaneity to timeless jazz standards. The EP showcases Joy and her band at their most immediate, dynamic and deeply connected onstage together.
ORGANIZED KONFUSION - Organized Konfusion CD/LP [Reissue/1991] (Nature Sounds)
Among the most influential hip-hop artists to emerge in the rapid creative expansion of the early 1990s, Queens duo Organized Konfusion helped reshape rap's aesthetic horizons with the 1991 release of a groundbreaking self-titled album. A dizzying display of lyrical dexterity and forward-thinking production, Organized Konfusion helped lay the foundation for what would become known as underground hip-hop, introducing the intricate wordplay and cerebral rhyme structures that continue to inspire generations of emcees. Both Pharoahe Monch and Prince Po shine throughout the album, revealing the immense talent that would later establish Monch as one of hip-hop's most revered voices and spark Po's collaborations with producers like Danger Mouse, Madlib, Large Professor, Oh No, and more. Moving effortlessly between playful nostalgia, sharp social commentary, and surreal linguistic explorations, the duo navigates chaotic drum breaks with dense rhyme patterns, vivid imagery, and ever-shifting narratives. After decades of limited availability and countless unofficial bootlegs, this is the first official vinyl reissue of Organized Konfusion since it's 1991 release. Featuring three rare bonus tracks, this 35th anniversary edition is available on 2LP, CD, and cassette, giving a long-overdue spotlight to one of hip-hop's most important albums.
GUS DAPPERTON - 4 Dear Life LP (ALTER MUSIC)
4 Dear Life, the fourth studio album from multi-platinum indie/alternative trailblazer Gus Dapperton, arrives via ALTER Music on October 23, 2026. An independent artist for the first time in years, at the close of his twenties, he felt like he needed a clean slate to find his musical practice again. The result is inspired by his life in NYC - DJing and dancing between clubs and bars in Manhattan and Brooklyn, settling into an apartment, building routines, and the community around him. Pairing dance-driven production with his signature songwriting, the album may sound like a departure from his previous work, but it's his most honest and grounded to date. 4 Dear Life isn't about escaping the world, it's about finding enough joy to live in it.
BETHLEHEM - S/T LP (Constellation)
In December 2023, as the genocide in Gaza unfolded, the Greek Orthodox Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem made the unprecedented decision to cancel all Christmas festivities. Commissioned by Bethlehem-based arts center The Wonder Cabinet and Radio alHara in response to that moment, BETHLEHEM brings together Beirut musicians Sary Moussa and Abed Kobeissy with Lawrence Sammour, the Church of the Nativity choir director since 1970. Their initial collaboration was a remotely recorded work, broadcast on Radio alHara on Christmas Eve 2023 in lieu of traditional Church celebrations, and re-broadcast two days later on dozens of radio stations worldwide, including NTS, Refuge Worldwide, and LYL Radio. Built around Sammour 's voice and traditional liturgical hymns from the Greek Orthodox tradition sung in Arabic, Bethlehem unfolds through buzuq, electronics, and drone. Moussa and Kobeissy place Sammour's singing at the centre of the work, it's devotional and historical character retaining full presence while entering into dialogue with a discreet electroacoustic language and allowing for extended instrumental passages and sonic textures that flow from the vocal source material. “
BLU & SNDTRAK - LA LP (Nature Sounds)
While West Coast hip-hop is often reduced to a narrow set of sounds and styles, the reality of California rap has always been far more expansive. Nowhere is that more evident than in Los Angeles, where the iconic G-Funk legacy exists alongside a thriving independent scene that continues to push hip-hop in new directions. Few artists embody this intersection as naturally as Blu. Long inspired by the signature sounds of his hometown while rooted in the lyricism and soul of L.A.'s underground, the acclaimed rapper has spent his impressive career bridging these worlds. His new project LA is a sharp distillation of that artistic identity, paying homage to classic West Coast sonics while painting a layered portrait of life in the City of Angels. To bring that vision to life, Blu linked with talented Oakland producer Sndtrak, a member of 9th Wonder's Soul Council production collective known for his work with Larry June, Rapsody, and Smif-N-Wessun. Reimagining vintage West Coast grooves through a fresh lens, Sndtrak provides the ideal backdrop for Blu's sharp writing and grounded storytelling.
BOW & ARROW - Bow & Arrow LP (NNA Tapes)
Somewhere between medieval plainchant, electroacoustic improvisation, and spectral folk song lies Bow and Arrow, the remarkable collaboration between Lea Bertucci and Michael Beharie. Their debut record occupies a space both ancient and uncannily contemporary. Bertucci calls it devotional music for the age of alienation, music that sounds like the drugs kicking in. Bells appear throughout the album as gestures of both anachronism and quiet resistance - a salve to a time of perpetual distraction. Bertucci and Beharie's voices intertwine, dissolve into electronic distortion, and re-emerge in moments of harmony. Like an afternoon wandering through frozen terrain. Like imagined intimacy. Bow and Arrow represents a fascinating nexus between the two artists' established practices: Beharie's gift for melody and songcraft folds seamlessly into Bertucci's rigorous experimentalism, creating music suspended outside linear time: experimental, gentle, and profoundly human.
KOREATOWN ODDITY - Purdy LP (Stones Throw)
LA native The Koreatown Oddity returns for his fourth album on Stones Throw. Purdy is the proving ground for an avant-garde rapper tackling being a father and partner with the boundless confidence of a child's imagination. Purdy sees Koreatown soundtrack a knight's first battle, document the cultivation of a beautiful lawn and contemplate if anyone really means it when they say have a great weekend - all while realizing that he's now part of something bigger. Purdy paints the complete portrait of the man Dominique Purdy and artist The Koreatown Oddity together: musician, father, and peddler of the absurd.
MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE - The Black Parade (20th Anniversary Edition) CD/LP [Reissue/2006] (Reprise )
My Chemical Romance's The Black Parade (20th Anniversary Deluxe Edition) includes the original album plus six bonus tracks: three live performances from The Black Parade World Tour (2007), never before released on physical music formats, and three rare B-sides. The live performances include "Someone Out There Loves You," long referred to by MCR fans as "Stay," performed on the tour but never officially recorded. Released in October 2006, The Black Parade follows The Patient through his reflections on life and his passage into the afterlife, built on the concept that death visits people in the form of their earliest cherished memory.
CHARLI XCX - Number 1 Angel LP [Reissue/2017] [(Atlantic)
CHARLI XCX - Pop 2 LP [Reissue/2017] (Atlantic)
CHARLI XCX - Sucker LP [Reissue/2014] (Atlantic)
LP reissues of Charli’s 2014 and 2017 mixtapes and albums.
SEN MORIMOTO - Time Is On Your Side LP (Sooper Records)
Chicago alt-jazz polymath Sen Morimoto returns for their fourth LP Time Is On Your Side, out October 23rd on Sooper Records. Sen is a Japanese-American multi-disciplinary artist and producer in the jazz, alt-pop and rap scenes from Chicago to Japan. Morimoto's releases consistently hop from genre to genre, disparate influences bleeding together in dense arrangements and earnest lyricism. The 9 tracks on Morimoto's newest offering remain reliably unpredictable, fluttering from rootsy folk, to odd-meter funk and ambient jazz. The lush and careful arrangements mark a decided change in Sen's approach that finds their nostalgic songwriting and intimate vocals at center stage.
TOM MORELLO - Everyone Gets Everything They Want LP (Mom & Pop Music)
Grammy-winning, Harvard-educated, Rock & Roll and Metal Hall of Fame inducted artist, songwriter, and activist Tom Morello is living proof of the transformative power of rock'n'roll. Known for his innovative guitar work and socially conscious songwriting, Morello rose to prominence as a founding member of Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave - two groundbreaking bands responsible for multiple Grammy Awards and more than 30 million albums sold worldwide. Rolling Stone named him one of the Greatest Guitar Players of All Time, and his career has spanned music, activism, film, television, and philanthropy. Whether on stage, at rallies, or on picket lines, Morello continues to use music as a force for unity and change.
DALE CROVER - Get Yer Ba-Ba's Out LP (Joyful Noise Records)
Dale Crover looks a lot like Neil Young-enough so that Neil himself recruited Crover to play the, um, young version of himself in the iconic Harvest Moon video. It's hard to imagine anyone more qualified to cover the song than Crover, owing to his presence in the video and to his long history as a solo artist and over his 43-year tenure as drummer for the Pacific Northwest rock institution Melvins. Crover's version of Harvest Moon opens his new EP, Get Yer Ba-Ba's Out, and barges into a rendition of Melvins' Stag classic The Bit, because Crover wrote the guitar part-it's in the same key, and why the hell not? The EP additionally features acoustic renditions of three songs from Crover's solo album Glossolalia (Doug Yuletide, Rings, and Jane), one from 2021's Rat-A-Tat-Tat! (I Can't Help You There), and the brand-new title track.
