PAVEMENT - Hecklers Choice: Big Gums And Heavy Lifters CD/LP (Matador)

Hard to believe we made it, but here we are. A sold-out reunion. Gold records. A critically-lauded feature film. Stockton, CA’s finest are once again seated atop the throne and Pavement is the biggest band in the world...? North America...? The coastal United States. And yet, we get the sense there’s still a lot of people who don’t know who the hell they are. Thus, Matador Records will release Hecklers Choice: Big Gums and Heavy Lifters - A Pavement Collection, Pavement’s second-ever “best of” compilation. Look, it’s been more than a decade. Back when Quarantine the Past came out in 2010, TikTok wasn’t a thing. This newly re-vamped track-list accounts for any/all viral sensations that have emerged hence (“Harness Your Hopes”) while continuing to rep the timeworn tunes that have remained playlist and mixtape staples for in-the-know-types across generations.

PAVEMENT - Pavements OST CD/LP (Matador)
This November, Matador Records capitalizes on the sweeping success of box office smash Pavements with the physical release of the iconic meta-documentary’s original soundtrack.  Compiled by Pavements producer/editor Robert Greene and the band, the soundtrack ropes together disparate elements of the film – dialogue snippets, scenes from the fake Oscar-bait biopic ‘Range Life,’ and cast recordings from the ‘Slanted! Enchanted!’ jukebox musical as well as live and rehearsal recordings from the group’s 2021 reunion tour and the never-before-released cover of Jim Pepper’s song “Witchitai-To.” The full-band performances were mixed by Bryce Goggin, who worked on Pavement classics 'Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain,' 'Wowee Zowee,' and 'Brighten the Corners.'

LUSH - Gala CD/LP [Reissue/1990] (4AD)
Lush’s Gala was the band’s debut compilation album, comprising their earliest releases — Scar (1989), Mad Love (1990), and Sweetness and Light (1990) — in reverse chronological order, plus two additional tracks (a cover version of ABBA’s “Hey Hey Helen” and the extended Robin Guthrie mix of Scar track “Scarlet”). Originally released in 1990 as the band’s introduction to the US and Japanese markets, the compilation’s 35th anniversary is being celebrated with a 2025 reissue with new remasters by Kevin Vanbergen. Back in print for the first time since 1990, the LP features original artwork by V23.

COLTER WALL - Memories And Empties CD/LP (RCA) 
Memories and Empties is the 5th studio album from the timeless voice of Colter Wall. Recorded live at historic RCA Studio A, with his longtime road band, this new record contains 10 tracks, including hit single ‘1800 Miles.' Pressed on Opaque Bone colored vinyl, Memories and Empties finds Colter at the heart of traditional country music. Hints of Western swing and authentic honky tonk combine for a listening experience like an evening at your favorite hometown bar.

DRIVE-BY TRUCKERS - Definitive Decoration Day CD/LP  (New West Records)
The remixed 2003 classic album, Decoration Day, remastered by acclaimed engineer Greg Calbi. Features Drive-By Truckers standards, “Sink Hole,” “Marry Me,” “My Sweet Annette,” and Jason Isbell’s first songs with the band, “Outfit,” and “Decoration Day. Plus Bonus Double Live Album Heathens Live At Flicker Bar, Athens, GA - June 20, 2002 A stripped-down, acoustic show recorded a year before Decoration Day’s release. Featuring novel and tight live takes on most of the album’s tracks - several performed for the first time ever - with additional back catalog tracks to round out this dynamic and raw set.

TONY MOLINA - On This Day LP (Slumberland Records)  
Tony Molina has been putting out records with marked consistency for well over twenty years. Underpinned by an unwavering ethos of independence and an unrelenting devotion to songcraft, his music ties together a passion for the history and tradition of song writing/production with a steadfast work ethic and an uncanny ability to exemplify and transcend those inspirations. On This Day might be the most Tony Molina album yet – an achingly beautiful set of 21 songs that feels like a choice selection of lost singles (or deep cuts).

JESUS & MARY CHAIN - Psychocandy (40th Anniversary Edition) LP (Third Man)  
1985: As the last detached murmurs of post-punk slowly crest into the earliest whispers of shoegaze, standing there in a world all their own, cutting a profile both unique and incomparable is the Jesus and Mary Chain. With equal influence gleaned from The Stooges and The Shangri-Las, The Velvet Underground and The Beach Boys, the band releases the unassailable godhead album, Psychocandy. In celebration of 40 years of one of the most important and watershed albums of all time, Third Man Records is humbled to announce our partnership with The Jesus and Mary Chain and the re-release of Psychocandy pressed on glorious black vinyl with a limited run pressed on hot honey vinyl. Packaged in a single pocket sleeve using the original artwork including the printed inner sleeve. Cut by Warren Defever at Third Man Mastering using super high definition 192khz transfers of the original 1985 mix and featuring the classic JAMC line-up of Jim Reid, William Reid, Douglas Hart and Bobby Gillespie.

GREEN DAY - Warning CD/LP [Reissue/2000] (Reprise)  
Green Day's sixth studio album Warning was released on October 3, 2000, and has gone on to sell over 1 million copies in the US and over 3 million worldwide. - The album includes three hit singles: ‘Warning,’ ‘Waiting' and ‘Minority,’ a track that continues to be a live favorite. The album has been one of the most celebrated in the band's catalogue, with the critics applauding the band's adventurous musical direction and Billie Joe Armstrong's strong song writing.

TEARS FOR FEARS - Songs From The Big Chair CD/LP [Reissue/1985] (Mercury)  
Celebrating 40 years of Songs from the Big Chair, this 3 CD edition brings together the original album remastered, alongside a rich selection of B-sides, alternate versions, and remixes. Housed in artwork faithful to the iconic 1985 release, it's the ultimate way to rediscover Tears for Fears' defining moment.

CHAT PILE AND HAYDEN PEDIGO - In The Earth Again LP (Flenser)  
The sprawling expanse of the American heartland is many things: picturesque as it is desolate, familiar as it is alien. Very few settings manage to capture such contrasting characteristics in equal measure, so it’s no wonder that the endless roads and forgotten towns of the deep countryside are practically synonymous with the general concept of a “post-apocalypse”. Although there’s a bleak horror to the rural decay of “Flyover Country,” there’s a tragic beauty in its stillness, something which OKC noise rockers Chat Pile and Texas-raised, Oklahoma-based fingerpicking guitarist and composer Hayden Pedigo masterfully capture on In the Earth Again. Despite their works occupying what seems like completely opposite ends of the genre and tonal spectrum, Hayden Pedigo and Chat Pile radiate a genuine synergy with one another that extends far beyond their music. Rather than alternating between moments where either the quartet’s signature sludgy beatdown of noise rock and Hayden’s Fahey-esque guitar soundscapes individually shine, In the Earth Again sees both Chat Pile and Hayden Pedigo explore latent yet previously untapped aspects of their sounds.

STELLA DONNELLY - Love & Fortune LP  (Dot Dash) 
Stella Donnelly returns with a deeply personal and anchored album, a body of work that traces the journey back to herself after a period of profound change. Recorded in Naarm/Melbourne, the album carries the grounding energy of place, offering a sonic landscape that feels both intimate and expansive. Joining Donnelly on the record are longtime collaborators and friends Marcel Tussie, Sophie Ozard, Julia Wallace, Timothy Harvey, and Ellie Mason, whose playing brings a looseness and vitality to the music, holding space for Donnelly's voice to shine in it's most tender and unguarded forms.

MODERN BASEBALL - Mobo Presents: The Perfect Cast LP [Reissue/2015]  (Run For Cover)   Released in 2015, The Perfect Cast quickly became a cult favorite in Modern Baseball's catalog - a snapshot of the band at their creative peak between sophomore LP You’re Gonna Miss It All and their final album Holy Ghost. Now, three decades later, the “30th Anniversary Ultimate Edition” expands on that legacy with never-before-released live cuts from the era, newly mixed and mastered from 2015 performances. Also included are the beloved online sessions (Altered Course, Sunday Night Salad) the band recorded while supporting the EP, mastered and available digitally and physically for the very first time. More than just a reissue, this definitive edition captures the energy, humor, and heart that made Modern Baseball one of the most beloved bands of their generation.

OASIS - Familiar To Millions CD/LP [Reissue/2000] (Big Brother)  
Originally released on November 13th, 2000, Familiar to Millions was Oasis' first live album and was recorded at their landmark Wembley Stadium show in July that year.

EELS - Electro-Shock Blues LP [Reissue/1998]  (Pias)  
Originally released in 1998, Electro-Shock Blues is the emotional centerpiece of Eels' catalog - a stark, beautiful exploration of grief, survival, and ultimately, hope. Written in the wake of tragic personal losses, it blends fragile melodies with raw, often darkly humorous lyrics. From the haunting opener "Elizabeth on the Bathroom Floor" to the defiant closer "P.S. You Rock My World," it's a deeply human record that doesn't flinch from life's hardest moments. AUSTRA - Chin Up Buttercup LP (Domino)  
“I’m so chaotic in love,” sings Katie Austra Stelmanis on “Amnesia,” the cinematic opening track of Chin Up Buttercup, the fifth album by her alter ego and longtime pop project Austra. You know Austra’s astonishing voice – singular and operatic, it betrays a fearlessness and sophistication. She’s the woman you’d be afraid to approach in a bar. Her voice draws you like a siren to the dance floor as the beats build toward the hypnotic chorus of “my life is not the same without you in my arms.” Listen closely and you’ll hear a vulnerability that sets this album apart from her earlier work. CONNAN MOCKASIN - Caramel LP [Reissue/2013] (Mexican Summer)  
Connan Mockasin drifts deeper into his dreamy inner cosmos on Caramel - a liquified blend of soul, blues, funk, and ambient pop, flecked with Gallic sway and Eastern shimmer. Imagine Prince sipping afternoon psilocybin tea with Robert Wyatt in Canterbury, or Scritti Politti's catalog held captive and reconstructed by a brigade of warped VHS cassettes. Eleven blissed-out tracks from the singular mind behind Forever Dolphin Love, Jassbusters, and so much more.

BLACK CROWES - Amorica LP [Reissue/1994] (American Recordings)
The Black Crowes' third studio album, Amorica, was originally released in 1994 and features the singles, ‘A Conspiracy,’ ‘High Head Blues,’ and ‘Wiser Time.’  The reissue has been overseen by band founders and brothers Chris and Rich Robinson along with acclaimed producer and friend of the Crowes, George Drakoulias. A newly remastered Amorica sourced from the original 1/4 production master tapes. The album includes 3 Amorica-era bonus tracks: Chevrolet (Taj Mahal cover), Song of the Flesh (2025 Mix) and the instrumental Sunday Night Buttermilk Waltz (2025 Mix). 14 tracks in jewel case with booklet included.

ANNA VON HAUSSWOLF - Iconoclasts LP (Year0001)  
Iconoclasts is Anna's first album in five years. Centered around her incomparable voice and expressive organ playing, the album features Iggy Pop and Ethel Cain among others. Together with producer Filip Leyman, she has crafted a true epic of experimental rock music, full of bombast and emotion. Iconoclasts is the work of a singular artist at the absolute height of her powers..

CHET BAKER - Swimming By Moonlight  LP (Slow Down Sounds)  
Chet Baker is an icon and needs no introduction! He is currently one of the best known and best selling Jazz artist in the world. Chet Baker performs & sings Swimming By Moonlight is a new Chet Baker album that draws from previously unreleased material recorded near the end of his life. From 1986-1987, Chet traveled and worked with the photographer and filmmaker Bruce Weber on a project that would become their Oscar-nominated documentary Let's Get Lost [1988]. During this period, Chet performed in Cannes, France and recorded sessions at Studio Davout in Paris and Sage and Sound Studio in Hollywood.Long rumored to exist, this will likely be the last new, unreleased Chet Baker music to ever be released.

EVERYTHING BUT THE GIRL - Best Of Everything But The Girl LP (Buzzin Fly Records)  
The definitive compilation from Everything But the Girl, the bestselling duo formed in 1982 by singer-writer-musicians Ben Watt and Tracey Thorn. Spanning over forty years from their indie jazz-folk debut, Night and Day, to the acclaimed contemporary electronica of 2023's UK Top 3 album, Fuse, the collection includes the 1995 global dance floor smash, ‘Missing (Todd Terry Remix)’, hit singles ‘I Don't Want To Talk About It,' ‘Walking Wounded’ and ‘Each And Every One,’ and deep evergreen cuts from their pioneering career.

JAKE XERXES FUSSELL & JAMES ELKINGTON - Rebuilding LP (Fat Possum)
Acclaimed songwriters Jake Xerxes Fussell and James Elkington have collaborated on their first original film score for Rebuilding, the poignant new feature film written and directed by Max Walker-Silverman. The film, which stars, among others, Josh O’Connor, Lily LaTorre, and Kali Reis, made its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year.

SLEAFORD MODS - Megaton 7" (Rough Trade)  
Sleaford Mods have made an explosive return today, releasing brand new single ‘Megaton’ via Rough Trade Records. Over an arc of rolling beats and atmospheric electronics, the track is peppered with acerbic bars digging out cultural mediocrity. A union of groove and guile, Jason Williamson and Andrew Fearn are ruffling feathers and moving feet with their first new release as Sleaford Mods since 2023 album UK GRIM. Continuing the duo’s partnership with the charity War Child, all profits from 'Megaton' will be donated to support War Child’s life-changing work with children affected by conflict.

STAN GETZ - Focus (Verve Vault Series) LP [Reissue/1961] (Verve)  
Focus, recorded at Webster Hall in New York City and released in 1961 on Verve Records, stands as a singular entry in saxophonist Stan Getz's discography. Focus pairs Getz's expressive tenor saxophone with a string orchestra conducted by Hershy Kay. Getz's parts were entirely improvised, as he navigated pre-composed frameworks with melodic invention and emotional clarity. The album represents a true collaboration between Sauter and Getz, and a radical departure from the conventions of jazz with strings albums of the time.The Verve Vault Series is always mastered from analog tapes and pressed on 180g vinyl at Optimal.

JONNY GREENWOOD - One Battle After Another - O.S.T.  LP (Nonesuch)  
Nonesuch releases Oscar- and BAFTA-nominated composer Jonny Greenwood's score to the new action comedy film written, directed, and produced by Paul Thomas Anderson, One Battle After Another features eighteen new compositions performed by Greenwood.

JIM JARMUSCH / ANIKA - Father Mother Sister Brother - O.S.T.  LP (SACRED BONES)  Jim Jarmusch and Anika first crossed paths at the Sacred Bones 15th Anniversary celebration in 2022, where both Anika and SQÜRL performed. Jim was immediately struck by Anika's performance, while Anika admired Jim as a mentor who had stayed true to his unique vision throughout his career. This mutual respect led to a creative collaboration, which culminated in the haunting soundtrack for Jarmusch's film Father Mother Sister Brother. The music for Father Mother Sister Brother is an experimental, collaborative soundscape, not meant to center around or define a single character. Instead, it's atmospheric, like the air invisibly surrounding the characters.

ART PEPPER - Surf Ride (Original Jazz Classics Series) LP [Reissue/1956] (Craft Recordings)  
Including sessions recorded by Art Pepper for Savoy from 1952-54, Surf Ride was originally released in 1956. Featuring three groups of players, the album collects twelve, mostly Pepper composed, cuts including ‘Holiday Flight’ - with Pepper's playing throughout on superior form. This new edition of the album is released as part of the Original Jazz Classics Series on 180-gram vinyl pressed at RTI with all-analog mastering from the original tapes at Cohearent Audio and a Stoughton Tip-On Jacket.

JIMMY SMITH / WES MONTGOMERY - Jimmy & Wes (The Dynamic Duo) LP [Reissue/1966]  (Verve)  
Released in 1966 on Verve Records, Jimmy & Wes (The Dynamic Duo), captures the only full-length studio collaboration between organist Jimmy Smith and guitarist Wes Montgomery. Produced by Creed Taylor and arranged by Oliver Nelson, Jimmy & Wes brought together two of jazz's most distinctive voices in an expansive big band setting. Recorded over three days in September 1966 at Rudy Van Gelder's Englewood Cliffs studio, the sessions featured a brass & reed-heavy ensemble and a top-tier rhythm section with drummer Grady Tate and bassist Richard Davis. Montgomery's melodic guitar lines and Smith's fiery organ grooves find a vibrant setting in Nelson's tight, punchy arrangements - rich in harmonic color and rhythmic drive. The result is a rare meeting of two jazz giants, captured during a period of broad popular success, with the added presence of one of the era's most accomplished arrangers. The Verve Vault Series is always mastered from analog tapes and pressed on 180g vinyl at Optimal.

SOYUZ - Krok LP (Mr Bongo)  
Despite immense challenges, Soyuz have delivered a career-defining album in Krok. Krok means step in Belarusian - and for Alex Chumak and his band this word comes with a lot of meaning. It's the title and theme that ran throughout СОЮЗ (Soyuz)'s fourth album, reflecting the journeys the band has navigated in recent years, having moved to Warsaw due to political unrest in their homeland of Belarus and the outbreak of war in Ukraine. Embracing the uncertainty became both the inspiration and main lyrical theme for Alex Chumak, Soyuz' composer and arranger, who also decided to go a step further and change the language in which he writes songs from Russian, which is used as lingua franca in many post-Soviet countries, to his native Belarusian. The result is nine songs about dreams and outer space, ordinary miracles, things very close and very distant at the same time.
