LES IMPRIMES - Fading Forward CD/LP (Big Crown)
Big Crown Records is proud to present the sophomore full-length from Les Imprimes, Fading Forward. Spearheaded by self taught multi-instrumentalist and producer Morten Martens, this album explores mortality, escapism, and a myriad of experiences associated with love. Martens made a tremendous impression with his highly acclaimed 2023 debut Rêverie and has since cultivated a diehard fanbase whose demographics are as wide-ranging as the influences that shape his music. He mixes tones from '60s and '70s Soul with arrangement nods to Doo-Wop records, takes drum energy from Hip-Hop, and covers the whole thing with vocal stylings from '90s & 2000s Alternative. But it is Martens' lyrics, emotion, and delivery that truly bring everything together and help him stand out from his peers.
PARLOR GREENS - Emeralds CD/LP/CASS (Colemine Records)
Emeralds, the sophomore long player from Parlor Greens, finds the trio serving up a beautifully curated sampler of what funky organ music can be. Three true masters of their respective crafts: Tim Carman (formerly of GA-20) on drums, Jimmy James (True Loves, formerly of Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio) on guitar, and Adam Scone (Scone Cash Players, The Sugarman 3) on organ. Seasoned and soulful pros coming together to make infectiously funky instrumental jams.
EL TEN ELEVEN - Nowhere Faster LP (Joyful Noise Records)
We like to believe our lives can be shaped into stories-clean arcs, legible meaning-but life refuses the outline. Instead, it moves bluntly and without apology, indifferent to our sense of order. El Ten Eleven's Nowhere Faster, the duo's 16th release, was forged within that unease. Across eight tracks, it considers not just nothingness but velocity-the strange urgency that propels us forward even when the destination remains unclear. The 33-minute album slows just long enough to pose the harder questions: what are we running from, and what do we think we can outrun? The record also marks a first for the band, weaving real strings and piano throughout, deepening the palette of what is already one of their most layered works. The record continues to center Fogarty's propulsive drumming and Dunn's bass-driven experimentation: the first four tracks (side A) feature electric bass, while the latter half (side B) shifts to acoustic bass processed through pedals, subtly altering the album's emotional weight. Ultimately, Nowhere Faster is an album about reckoning-about time, endurance, and the uncertainty of how long a band, or a life, can last.
SQUAREPUSHER - Kammerkonzert CD/LP (Warp Records)
Tom Jenkinson, aka Squarepusher, presents Kammerkonzert, a riot of onyx-hard, hyperfast riffs, fiendish orchestral themes, and handbrake turns through varieties of progressive, ambient, electronic andexperimental music. The singular producer, experimental musician and creator of futuristic forms of fusion, has a three-decade-long back catalogue studded with a variety of jewel-like records. From the furious breakbeat acid and pulverising live bass guitar attack of Feed Me Weird Things (1996) to the literal and self-explanatory Music For Robots (2014) via the virtuosic live showcase of Solo Electric Bass 1 (2009) and the otherworldly concrète jazz of Ultravisitor (2004) few contemporary musicians have covered as much ground in as sure-footed a manner. But despite this reach, his three decade output is only typified by two things: unpredictability and rule breaking. Given that his new album on Warp, Kammerkonzert, is essentially a chamber concerto with Jenkinson himself playing all of the parts it's safe to say he has come a long way since his crystalline drum & bass debut for the label in 1996, Port Rhombus EP. Twenty-one albums in, Kammerkonzert is the start of a new era for Squarepusher as a composer.
THE MELVINS / NAPALM DEATH - Savage Imperial Death March LP (Ipecac Recordings)
After two co-headling tours over the past decade, (the) Melvins are continuing their long tradition with us of teaming up with another band on an album. Next up- Napalm Death! This isn't just some split release with the bands each getting a side. Savage Imperial Death March is a full collab with both Melvins & Napalm Death playing together on all 8 tracks.
BODYSNATCHER - Hell Is Here Hell Is Home LP (MNRK Heavy)
Florida deathcore heavyweights Bodysnatcher return with their most punishing and purposeful statement to date. Hell Is Here, Hell Is Home, marks the groups fourth studio album out April 10. Brutal, unrelenting, and emotionally unfiltered, the album captures a band fully locked into it's identity while sharpening every weapon in it's arsenal.True to their roots, Bodysnatcher deliver a sound steeped in suffocating grooves, bone-crushing breakdowns, and feral intensity. Hell Is Here, Hell Is Home pushes beyond pure aggression. The record explores cycles of trauma, self-destruction, survival, and the uncomfortable truth that for many, suffering is not a phase, it is a place. This is deathcore grounded in lived experience, written from inside the fire rather than in hindsight.
SCRITTI POLITTI - Songs To Remember LP [Reissue/1982] (Rough Trade)
The debut album of one of Britain's most acclaimed and influential bands, Songs to Remember takes us back to the beginnings of Scritti Politti. Having emerged out of the DIY Camden bedsit scene of the late 70s, yet with a musical vision to match the likes of Miles Davis (who they later worked with), the Green Gartside-led group established themselves as one of the early 80s' true innovators as Songs To Remember channeled both the fiery politics of the era with a burgeoning pop sensibility. Described as witty and ingenious by NME on it's release in 1982, Songs to Remember has been fully remastered for this long overdue vinyl repressing, which has been personally overseen by Gartside himself.
DURAN DURAN - Thank You LP [Reissue/1995] (Rhino)
Following in 1995, "Thank You" was an album of covers featuring songs written by Led Zeppelin, Bob Dylan, The Doors, Lou Reed and Elvis Costello. The album charted in the top 20 of both UK and US charts. Originally squeezed onto 1LP, Thank You is highly sought after as neither have been re-pressed on vinyl since it's original release. It is now spread across 140g 2LPs for the best sound.
BRYAN FERRY - Bitter-Sweet LP (BMG)
Step into a world where classic art‑pop meets the roaring 1920s. The Jazz Age reimagines Bryan Ferry's Roxy Music and solo catalog as elegant jazz instrumentals, presented by the Bryan Ferry Orchestra. From ‘Virginia Plain’ and ‘Do the Strand’ to ‘Love Is the Drug’ and ‘Avalon,’ each track is transformed through authentic 1920s-style arrangements featuring banjo, clarinet, muted trumpet, baritone sax, and double bass, crafted by renowned arranger Colin Good. Top UK jazz players, including trumpeter Enrico Tomasso and saxophonist Alan Barnes, bring these timeless melodies to life, while mono-style production evokes the charm of vintage 78 RPM recordings. Ferry himself steps back from vocals to serve as conductor and producer, curating this inventive project born from his love of jazz and curiosity about how his songs would stand without singing.
HECTOR LAVOE - Comedia LP [Reissue/1978] (Craft)
Comedia is Hector Lavoe's legendary third solo album, released in 1978 on Fania Records. Produced by Willie Colon, the album features seven unforgettable tracks, including the smash hit ‘El Cantante’ written by Ruben Blades, the exciting ‘Bandolera’ and the closer, inspired by Cuban poet and activist Nicolas Guillen's poem Songoro Cosongo. This remastered reissue is pressed on 180-gram vinyl, with (AAA) lacquers cut from the original master tapes for an exceptional listening experience.
MICKEY & THE SOUL GENERATION - Give Everybody Some LP (Numero)
Hard Texas funk from the celebrated San Antonio scene. As Abe Epstein was tracking West Side brown-eyed soul groups on General Mc- Mullen Blvd., Mickey Foster and his biracial Soul Generation band were answering James Brown's call to get on the good foot just south of the River Walk. Collected here are a dozen of their swaggiest and crook-legged instrumentals, a mood building survey of the band's 1969-'77 run, including the paper hit knee-wobbler Iron Leg. Chop up your next sample here.
WENDY EISENBERG - Wendy Eisenberg LP (Joyful Noise)
Wendy Eisenberg has spent the past decade as a fixture of independent music and an artist of inspired multiplicity. As a singer-songwriter, improviser, and virtuoso guitarist, the coordinates of their artistry are ever-shifting, from art-rock to jazz to blistering free improv and eloquent folk. After spending the past five years experimenting in different bands, genres, and creative challenges, and following a period of self-confrontation that they liken to a personal exorcism, Eisenberg has arrived at a milestone.
TIWAYO - Outsider LP (Record Kicks)
Nicknamed The Young Old for a voice that carries timeless weight, Paris-born soul singer and songwriter Tiwayo returns with Outsider, a powerful new album produced by Grammy winner Adrián Quesada of the Black Pumas. Set for release worldwide on April 10, 2026, Outsider marks the triumphant comeback of a bohemian spirit who has busked and traveled across the world, absorbing the blues, soul, and gospel roots that continue to shape his music.
VARIOUS - Eccentric Sweet Soul (Numero)
So what is Sweet Soul? Maybe the sweet spot between lowrider and symphonic soul? Lush yet vibrant production, seemingly wrapped in audible silk, sure to give every listener pause. Either way, if one thing is certain, it's purpose stays perfectly clear. Pleasure, low and slow, bajito y suavecito. Every kiss begins with soul, or sweet soul for low rides. Sweet soul is the predecessor to what we now call modern soul. It came into it's own in the late '60s and '70s, alongside-but apart from-the grittier, funk-driven soul dominating the airwaves. Where that music pushed hard rhythms and raw emotion, sweet soul softened the edges. It favored melody, warmth, and Polish, giving it a calm, lush feel that made it easy to return to, and easy to love, even decades later.
DRUNK - A Derby Spiritual LP [Reissue/1996] (Jagjaguwar )
A revisit to Drunk’s 1996 debut A Derby Spiritual will reveal to the listener a record more charming, gentle and — dare I say — colorful than its stoic, 90s slow-core reputation might insist. And one might even note that Rick Alverson’s voice has a defeated Tom Petty lilt heretofore unchecked. The Richmond band sound careful, creaky and lean to be sure. But the decades have allowed this old sad bastard a warming amber glow. The black hole radio play at the end of the stunning opener “Collarbone” seems to predict the coming of ‘Yankee Hotel Foxtrot.’ And here in the curious present, strummers like “Germany Skies," “Gideon’s Trumpet” and “Gizmo" could be slotted in right alongside the indie-country boom of today.
ADRIAN QUESADA - Trio Asenino LP (ATO)
Adrian Quesada (of the Black Pumas) is a GRAMMY-winning and Oscar-nominated artist. His new project Trio Asesino debuted on tour with Hermanos Gutierrez last year. The trio's self-titled album features a hypnotic assortment of instrumental songs with Quesada's signature warm analog production. The trio includes Joshy Soul (Teskey Brothers, Curtis Harding) on keys and Jay Mumford (J Zone) on drums. Special guests include acclaimed trumpet player Keyon Harrold and harpist Minta Spencer.
JOHN LEE HOOKER - That's My Story LP [Reissue/1960] (Craft Recordings)
That's My Story is the 1960 album from the blues icon, John Lee Hooker, originally released on Riverside Records. The album features a raw, stripped-down approach for a country blues sound. Hooker plays acoustic guitar on tracks like ‘I Need Some Money’ and ‘No More Doggin' to create a compelling collection that expertly showcases his mastery. This edition is pressed on 180-gram vinyl at QRP and features (AAA) remastered from the original tapes cut by Matthew Lutthans at The Mastering Lab.
LARRY YOUNG - Mother Ship (Blue Note Tone Poet Edition) LP [Reissue/1969] (Blue Note Records)
The final Blue Note album by organist Larry Young, 1969's Mother Ship, bristled with unbridled kinetic energy while delivering soulful grooves. First released in 1980 in the LT Series, the set of Young originals featured Lee Morgan on trumpet, Herbert Morgan on tenor saxophone, and Eddie Gladden on drums. This stereo Blue Note Tone Poet Edition was produced by Joe Harley, mastered by Kevin Gray from the original analog master tapes, pressed on 180g vinyl at RTI, and packaged in a deluxe gatefold tip-on jacket.
MILES DAVIS - Doo-Bop LP [Reissue/1992] (Rhino)
Doo-Bop was a 1992 studio album by American jazz trumpeter Miles Davis. It was recorded with hip hop producer Easy Mo Bee and released posthumously. The album won a Grammy Award for Best R&B Instrumental Performance the following year.
MILES DAVIS & QUINCY JONES - Live At Montreux (Rhino Reserve) LP [Reissue/1992] (Rhino)
Recorded live at the 25th Anniversary of the Montreux Jazz Festival on July 8, 1991. Vinyl LP pressing.
CYMANDE - Promised Heights LP [Reissue] (Partisan Records)
Promised Heights solidified Cymande's place in music history, and contains some of their most-beloved and often-sampled tracks such as ‘Brothers On The Slide’ & ‘Promised Heights.’ They were part of the first wave of innovators and originators of the fledgling Black British music scene. Promised Heights was recorded following the band's legendary US tour with Al Green. 2026 repress on black vinyl.
THELONIOUS MONK - Thelonious Alone In San Francisco LP [Reissue/1959] (Craft) Thelonious Alone In San Francisco is the third solo album from legendary jazz pianist Thelonious Monk, following Piano Solo and Thelonious Himself. Recorded at Fugazi Hall in October 1959, the album was recorded without an audience. This new edition of the album is released as part of the Original Jazz Classics Series on 180-gram vinyl pressed at RTI with all-analog mastering from the original tapes at Cohearent Audio and presented in a Stoughton tip-on jacket.
FRED JACKSON - Hootin' N' Tootin' LP [Reissue/1962] (Blue Note Records)
In addition to appearing as a sideman with Blue Note organists Baby Face Willette & Big John Patton, the brawny tenor saxophonist Fred Jackson also cut his soulful leader debut for the label in 1962. Hootin' 'N Tootin' features organist Earl Van Dyke, guitarist Willie Jones and drummer Wilbert Hogan. This stereo Blue Note Tone Poet Edition was produced by Joe Harley, mastered by Kevin Gray from the original analog master tapes, pressed on 180g vinyl at RTI, and packaged in a deluxe gatefold tip-on jacket.
JOHN COLTRANE - My Favorite Things (Rhino Reserve) LP [Reissue/1961] (Atlantic) Coltrane's classic Atlantic album from 1961 gets the Rhino Reserve treatment. This is his first recorded use of the soprano sax which he would go on to play extensively until the end. The modal exploration of the title track is something he would return to in live performances for the rest of his career. Cut by Matthew Lutthans at The Mastering Lab and pressed on 180g black vinyl at Fidelity Record Pressing.
LES LOUANGES - Alouette! LP (Bonsound)
With Alouette!, Les Louanges attempts to make sense of his human condition and Québécois identity by bringing guitars and Joual (the French language dialect spoken in Québec) to the forefront while still fuelling his signature grooves. More rock-oriented than his previous albums, this third effort is luminous yet rich in sounds, emotion and political commentary. It unfolds through a journey that will lead Loulou to encounter universal experiences such as illness, death, and true love. The album is also the result of an artistic quest that began during a period of self-reflection, when Vincent Roberge (aka Les Louanges or Loulou) seized the opportunity to take a break after his last extended tour.
BEVIS FROND - Horrorful Heights LP (Fire Records)
Horrorful Heights marks a formidable new chapter in The Bevis Frond’s deep and storied catalogue, showcasing the enduring creativity of songwriter, guitarist and frontman Nick Saloman as he moves into yet another decade of recording. Long established as one of the most distinctive voices in British underground rock, Saloman continues to refine the band as signature blend of melodic psychedelia, wiry guitar epics and sharp, emotionally attuned songwriting. Horrorful Heights offers one of the most approachable entry points to the band as world in years: a record that gathers their core strengths into a cohesive, vivid set. Recorded with long-time drummer Dave Pearce and guitarist Paul Simmons, alongside new bassist Louis Wiggett, the album moves fluidly between jangling psych-pop, heavy-lit guitar workouts and pastoral comedown reveries.
