ONEOHTRIX POINT NEVER - Tranquilizer CD/LP (Warp)
Tranquilizer isn't the sound of sedation but resurfacing. Daniel Lopatin isn't condemning our need for escape, but exploring what happens after. The record maps a movement from weightless calm into something more grounded, the necessary cycle of withdrawal and return that keeps us sane in a world both overwhelming and mundane. Tranquilizer feels like falling out of a dream you can still touch.
LSD AND THE SEARCH FOR GOD - Heaven Is A Place LP (Don Giovanni Records)
Over the years, LSD and the Search for God’s cult-like following within the underground psych/space/shoegaze community has remained as passionate as ever, and this new EP picks up where they last left off—then blasts off for parts unknown. “Heaven,” “(I Don't Think That We Should) Take It Slow,” and “Elizabeth” showcase the band at their best—swirling, reverb-drenched guitar chords, intertwined with shimmering male/female vocals—while “Outer Space” and “Without You” slow it down a bit and throw hazy, psychedelic guitar riffs into the mix. The obvious comparison to the Creation Records sound in its heyday is appropriate, yet LSD have definitely taken that noise and made it all their own.
BLOC PARTY - Silent Alarm CD/LP [Reissue/2005] (Pias)
Originally released in 2005, Silent Alarm marked a bold debut from Bloc Party and quickly became a landmark album of 2000s British Indie Rock. From “Helicopter” to “Banquet” to “This Modern Love,” Silent Alarm helped define the sound of the 2000s and captured the tension and energy of a generation on the edge of change. Restless and immediate, it still resonates two decades on and remains one of the era's most influential albums. This 20th anniversary edition is pressed on double white vinyl, for enhance audio quality.

It features a new remaster of the album from the original two-track analog stereo tapes, alongside previously unreleased and rare studio outtakes and intimate Paul Westerberg home demos. Delve into the band's infectious live energy with a complete, previously unreleased concert recorded in March 1984 at Cubby Bear in Chicago, IL. Don't miss your chance to gain a fresh perspective on timeless anthems like “I Will Dare,” “Androgynous,” “Unsatisfied," and” Answering Machine.” Complete with a 24 page booklet with liner notes by music journalist and singer and songwriter from the critically acclaimed DC-based pub-rock band the Paranoid Style, Elizabeth Nelson.
DIJON - Baby CD/LP/CASS (Warner Records)
Dijon's sophomore album, Baby, examines new fatherhood and the mania of domesticity. From song-to-song, Dijon captures the moments of ecstasy and tragedy that inevitably follow life-altering changes.
IMOGEN HEAP - Speak for Yourself LP [Reissue/2005] (Megaphonic)
Pressed for the first time in it's highest-quality format on premium 180g double black vinyl and protected by printed polylined inner sleeves. Packaged in a spot UV gatefold jacket with lyrics, poster, and redeemable digital Heapster badge. Originally self-released in 2005, Speak for Yourself is the fiercely inventive second album by Imogen Heap-written, produced, recorded, and mixed entirely by Heap herself. A true one-woman operation, it marked a defining moment in independent music: genre-blurring, emotionally rich, and technically daring. Now, twenty years on, this landmark record returns in a fully remastered 20th anniversary edition. Remastered in close collaboration with Heap's longtime friend and mastering engineer Simon Heyworth, this black vinyl edition captures the full depth and nuance of the original recordings with unparalleled clarity and warmth. Paired with newly curated packaging, it's a celebration of an album that has influenced a generation of artists-from Taylor Swift and James Blake to Billie Eilish and Ariana Grande-and continues to inspire listeners with it's bold vulnerability and sonic innovation.
PHISH - Undermind LP [Reissue/2004] (Jemp Records)
Undermind, Phish's eleventh full-length studio album is now available on vinyl for the first time in a 2-LP set on JEMP Records. Undermind was recorded at The Barn in Vermont by producer Tchad Blake with Pete Carini in February 2004 and mixed by Tchad in England at Real World Studios in March 2004.
HALEY HEYNDERICKX - What of Our Nature LP (Fat Possum)
Haley Heynderickx and Max García Conover made their second collaborative record, What of Our Nature, in the spirit of Woody Guthrie. From opposite corners of the country, the two songwriters spent a year sharing songs while reading Woody’s words and biographies, slowly exploring a patchwork of Americanism to see where their stories fit. García Conover, half-Puerto Rican, and Heynderickx, half-Filipina, found themselves with this collection of music about the legacy of colonialism, generational identity, commercialism, and the slippery target of addressing social equity in song. Heynderickx’s precise, delicate eloquence met García Conover’s vivid, angular poetics in a barn in Vermont, where this record was recorded directly to tape in five days. With guitars, voices, and some found percussion, they played the record straight through, channeling Woody’s union of spontaneity, sweetness, and defiance.
PARIS 1942 - Paris 1942 LP [Reissue/1997] (Superior Viaduct)
Difficult as it may be to imagine, there was a time when Sun City Girls did not exist. Prior to the Bishop brothers teaming up with drummer/shaman Charlie Gocher to form SCG's classic trio lineup, there were various ad-hoc assemblages of local Phoenix-area freaks and weirdos-groups which existed only long enough to play a single gig, open mic or house party before disbanding without a trace. Hatched from this milieu was Paris 1942, a short-lived band formed by guitarist Jesse Srogoncik that included Alan Bishop, Richard Bishop and former Velvet Underground drummer Maureen Tucker. Paris 1942 would play only four shows in as many months, but between April and August of 1982, the band would gather several times a week in Tucker's living room, where the group feverishly wrote and rehearsed with a kind of quotidian discipline. While P42 didn't release anything during their brief tenure, a 7” EP and LP (both self-titled) surreptitiously surfaced on the Majora label in the mid to late '90s. Until now, those two titles-as well as an appearance on Placebo's Amuck comp in late '82-would be the only documented evidence that this improbable, serendipitous and magnificent band ever existed. While those expecting P42's music to sound like a tantalizing combination of Sun City Girls' iconoclastic hoodoo havoc and the Velvets' primal drug-chug certainly won't be disappointed, Paris 1942 more often than not transcends even these nearly impossible expectations. Srogoncik's songs, in particular, are a revelation, displaying as much in common with the exuberant raunch of The Gun Club and the chapbook punk of Peter Laughner as they do any of the more obvious touchstones. The group's foresight to document and capture this meeting of musical minds-a meeting as unlikely as it was short-lived-provides a missing link between the Velvets and the Voidoids, between the Dead Boys and the Dead C, between ESP-Disk' and DNA. Far more than a historical curiosity, Paris 1942 provides a fresh perspective on an embryonic and sadly vanishing US underground. It is music that blinks at the past and anticipates a thousand possible futures. -James Toth (excerpt from the liner notes)
BILL ORCUTT - Another Perfect Day LP (Palilalia)
Another Perfect Day is Bill Orcutt's first solo electric guitar record since 2017's eponymous Bill Orcutt. While that eight-year gap might not seem like a ton of time on the cosmic scale, it nonetheless represents a busy half-decade plus for Orcutt projects: a raft of improv collaborations, an acclaimed run of chopped and looped albums on Fake Estates, and the collision of Orcutt's computer and guitar music on Music For Four Guitars and last year's How to Rescue Things, both on Palilalia. The undeniable alchemy of those latter mashups inspired not only a wider appreciation of Orcutt-as-composer, but also the resurrection of Orcutt-as-bandleader, as the Bill Orcutt Quartet hit the road in support of Four Guitars, Orcutt's first work with a proper score (courtesy of Shane Parrish).
JACKIE MCLEAN - One Step Beyond LP [Reissue/1963] (Blue Note)
Inspired by Ornette Coleman, alto saxophonist Jackie McLean ventured into the realm of the avant-garde on his own terms, never abandoning his soulful sense swing and structure. With his 1963 album One Step Beyond he forged a distinctive inside-out sound with a unique quintet featuring Grachan Moncur III, Bobby Hutcherson, Eddie Kahn & Tony Williams. ANDREW HILL - Judgment! LP [Reissue/1965] (Blue Note)
Alfred Lion considered pianist/composer Andrew Hill as unique as Thelonious Monk and documented Hill's music with a fervor. Recorded in 1964 with a quartet of modern jazz visionaries - Bobby Hutcherson, Richard Davis & Elvin Jones - Judgment! Was the third classic album Hill recorded in a 5-month period that also produced Black Fire and Point of Departure. This Blue Note Classic Vinyl Edition is stereo, all-analog, mastered by Kevin Gray from the original master tapes, and pressed on 180g vinyl at Optimal.
CRANBERRIES - MTV Unplugged LP (Island)
The Cranberries performed on MTV's Unplugged in 1995 in promotion for their sophomore album, No Need To Argue, but the audio has never been released, until now.
COLEMAN HAWKINS - Coleman Hawkins And Confreres LP [Reissue/1958] (Verve)
Released in 1958 on Verve, Hawkins playing is particularly confident and eloquent throughout the set. His group of confreres on the session is fortified by the Oscar Peterson Trio along with sit-in guests, including Hank Jones (piano), Herb Ellis (guitar), and Roy Eldridge & Buck Clayton (trumpet) among others. The relaxed atmosphere of the session is particularly noticeable in the title, “Sunday,” in which Roy Eldridge comes into the limelight with a brilliant solo. Coleman Hawkins' voluminous, supple sound which had a great influence on the styles of so many horn players who followed is best heard after Roy's solo in Honey Flower. Verve Acoustic Sounds Series features transfers from analog tapes and remastered 180-gram vinyl in deluxe gatefold packaging.

THAO & THE GET DOWN STAY DOWN - Know Better Learn Faster (15th Anniversary Edition) LP (Kill Rock Stars )
Claps and stomps through the wreckage of heartbreak. Jangly guitars and jubilant horns disguise the sharp edges of emotional neglect, asymmetrical desire, abandonment, and longing—while the music mirrors the fevered shifting of blame. Never bitter but brutally honest, Thao recounts love’s collapse in a delicate balance of near-obsessive detail and poetic ambiguity. And when words fall short, she gives us oohs and ohs to carry us through—and keep the party going. A soundtrack for sad people who dance—even if it’s on the ruins of love.

SOBBING HONEY & ANNA HOMLER - Loka / Loca LP (Gilgongo)
LA musique concreté / drone duo Sobbing Honey (Grant Capes & Mike Meanstreetz) meet Anna Homler—a serial collaborator who’s eclectic and playful contribution to experimental music can be, in recorded form, traced back at a fever pitch to her 1985 LP with Steve Moshier, Breadwoman (reissued by Rvng Intl. In 2016). Recorded one fine day at Seahorse Sound, the trio launched into a shifting weave of feral chants, haunting dirges, and clattering percussion. Synth pads and skewed tape loops led by Homler’s unearthly voice merge to sounds fit for lovers of both organic and electronic music.

SMEGMA Folklore & Concepts LP (Gilgongo)
A new LP from Smegma (now in their 52nd year!)—featuring Ju Suk Reet Meate, Oblivia, Ace Farren Ford, Dennis Duck, Aaron Dilloway, John Wiese, Tom Recchion, Rick Potts and more. The record celebrates the inevitable portions of joyous cacophony from the modern era of the group (circa 2008 - 2024), while also including a piece dating clear back to November 1973, from the day the group landed on the name Smegma. Incorporating imagery from their 2023 induction to the Oregon Music Hall of Fame and a cover drawing from Ju Suk, the record also features a variety of collages from Ace (who unfortunately passed away in December 2023), throughout the layout itself but also with the inclusion of a unique xerox of collage work in each copy of the record.
