STEVE LACY - Oh Yeah? LP (RCA)
[LP available now, CD available next week!] Steve Lacy returns with Oh Yeah?, the self-produced follow-up to his Grammy winning Gemini Rights. The Compton native continues to push the boundaries of modern pop, alt and R&B beyond his billion streaming ‘Dark Red’ and global #1 Bad Habit.

MOUNTAIN GOATS - Days CD/LP (Cadmean Dawn)
These songs are loosely about the 70s, 80s, and 90s, which is to say they're about the accumulation of days, each one a little further back than the next, sometimes miraculously seeming clearer as they recede and sometimes blurring into unrecognizable shapes which are sometimes pleasant and sometimes troubling.

OVERMONO - Pure Devotion CD/LP (XL Recordings)
Overmono's long-awaited new album Pure Devotion lands on 7th August 2026. Marking the beginning of what promises to be a monumental year for the Welsh brothers, it's an album created by happy accidents, machine malfunctions, beautiful imperfections and the unflinching confidence Overmono have gained since their breakthrough as one of the defining dance music acts of the 2020s. Their 2023 debut album Good Lies, hailed by The Guardian as UK rave history distilled to perfection, announced them to the world, and a string of collaborations with Joy Orbison, High Contrast, Fred Again.., Lil Yachty, and The Streets has kept them at the forefront ever since.

CEREMONY - Tell Me Your Dream CD/LP (Relapse)
Across two decades, the California-born hardcore outfit Ceremony has earned it's standing as one of punk's most adaptable and unflinching bands, always ready to meet the moment without surrendering it's principles. True to form, Ceremony's seventh album, Tell Me Your Dream pushes the group's punk-forged intensity all the way to the fore, capturing the quintet at it's most expressive, expansive, and timely. Ferociously alert, Tell Me Your Dream reunites Ceremony - Farrar, guitarist-keyboardist Anthony Anzaldo, guitarist Andy Nelson, bassist Justin Davis and drummer Jake Casarotti - with producer John Reis for ten songs of searing breadth. That means everything from bristling hardcore to moody post-punk - all while taking fundamental inspiration from Discharge, Crass, and other anarcho-punk troupes that first helped certain members of Ceremony find their own political voices back when they were teenagers. The result is a culmination of the band's 21 years together, if not some kind of riddle: Ceremony knows how to make a return-to-form sound like evolution - and vice versa.

WALTER BISHOP JR - Coral Keys LP [Reissue/1971] (Real Gone Music)
The first release on Black Jazz was by pianist and label producer Gene Russell; for the label's second release, Russell chose another piano man of impeccable taste, Walter Bishop, Jr. But while much of Russell's record consisted of songs composed by others, Bishop's record features all originals, most notably ‘Soul Turn Around,’ a groover that later turned up on Freddie Hubbard's 1969 LP A Soul Experiment. Bishop had helmed several releases before this one, including dates with John Coltrane bassist Jimmy Garrison and Miles Davis drummer Jimmy Cobb among others, so it's not surprising he assembled a heavy hitting line-up for Coral Keys, including Woody Shaw on trumpet, Reggie Jackson on bass, Idris Muhammad on drums, and Harold Vick on flute, tenor, and soprano sax. Think Herbie Hancock's '60s Blue Note recordings gently polished with a soul jazz sheen; this is some tasty stuff that was hard to find for way too long. Remastered by Mike Milchner and annotated by Pat Thomas, this pressing comes in blue with black swirl vinyl limited to 500 copies!

DOUG CARN - Infant Eyes LP [Reissue/1971]  (Real Gone Music)
Nobody recorded as much as keyboardist/composer Doug Carn did for the Black Jazz label; his four records for the imprint are recognized as spiritual/free/soul jazz classics, Carn's 1971 debut for Black Jazz, Infant Eyes, introduced his stylistic wrinkle of adding lyrics to jazz classics like John Coltrane's Acknowlegement (A Love Supreme), Horace Silver's Peace, and Wayne Shorter's title track, all sung by the gorgeous, thrilling voice of his wife Jean Carn. A crack outfit of drummer Michael Carvin, saxophonist/flautist George Harper, trombonist Al Hall, Jr., trumpeter Bob Frazier, and bassist Henry Franklin (himself leader of two treasured Black Jazz releases) backs the couple. A moving, beautiful listen that sounds ever more contemporary, now remastered, annotated, and pressed in blue with black swirl vinyl limited to 500 copies.

CREEKBED CARTER HOGAN - Peasants Revolt LP (Gar Hole Records)
The world is ending, and rent is due. The empire is crumbling, and you're late refilling your meds. War is ceaseless, pandemics go unchecked, billionaires poison the well water and cops abduct neighbors while wildfires burn... but here at the hot dog stand, relief and joy are yours for five buck ninety-nine. This is Peasants Revolt, the latest album from trans folksinger Creekbed Carter Hogan. Playing the part of court jester in the halls of a dying empire, Hogan croons, hollers, and grins in the face of despair as we feast together on one last humble supper before everything falls apart.

HAWTHORNE HEIGHTS - If Only You Were Lonely LP [Reissue/2006] (Victory Records)
Relive the magic of Hawthorne Heights' gold-certified sophomore album, If Only You Were Lonely. Originally released in 2006, the album features the enduring singles ‘This Is Who We Are,’ ‘Saying Sorry,’ ‘Pens and Needles’ and more. Upon it's original release, If Only You Were Lonely hit #3 on the Billboard Top 200.

ANAMANAGUCHI - Scott Pilgrim EX O.S.T. LP (Polyvinyl Records)
Scott Pilgrim EX-the newest video game from the Scott Pilgrim franchise, co-written by series creator Bryan Lee O'Malley and developed by Tribute Games-is out now with an all new original soundtrack from Anamanaguchi.

Classic Barrington Levy album from 1984 restored and remastered for best sound ever.

SLEEP TOKEN - Even In Arcadia (Instrumental) LP (RCA)
Limited clear blue vinyl LP pressing housed in gatefold jacket. Includes 12x24 poster. Even In Arcadia - the fourth album from Sleep Token - is now available as an exclusive instrumental pressing. This version presents the full album without vocals, putting the musicianship and production front and center. A must-have variant for collectors and fans looking to experience the record in a new way.

NO USE FOR A NAME - Leche Con Carne LP [Reissue/1995] (Fat Wreck)
No Use for a Name were one of the first bands on Fat Wreck Chords and remain a cornerstone of the label roster. Their unique take on California punk/skate punk emphasized equally innovative and catchy melody, paired with top-flight musicianship. Of course, a lot of what made this possible was the vocal range and imaginative song writing of Tony Sly. Despite his tragic passing in 2012, Tony's presence can still be felt today, as his influence is evident in the work of many other artists. Leche Con Carne is a blistering punk rock record, the band's third studio album, and a blend of Bad Religion-esque riffage and edgy vocals that hit between singing and yelling. The record features some of the bands' biggest hits, the love song Soulmate, the story-telling cautionary tale Justified Black Eye, and the popular Bob Marley cover of Redemption Song. 30 years since it's first release, Leche Con Carne feels as omnipotent as ever, an essential Fat Wreck Chords release, and a classic album in the No Use for a Name catalog.

JACKIE MCLEAN - Vertigo LP [Reissue/1963](Blue Note Records)
Primarily drawn from a dynamic 1963 quintet session, Vertigo features Jackie McLean across a dizzying array of styles from hard bop and slow blues to sophisticated funk and bristling post-bop. Joining the alto saxophonist are Donald Byrd, Herbie Hancock, Butch Warren, and Tony Williams. This stereo Blue Note Tone Poet Vinyl Edition was produced by Joe Harley, mastered by Kevin Gray from the original analog master tapes, pressed on 180g vinyl at RTI, and packaged in a deluxe tip-on gatefold jacket.

IKE QUEBEC - Bossa Nova Soul Samba LP [Reissue/1962] (Blue Note Records)
Ike Quebec's Bossa Nova Soul Samba put the saxophonist's unique spin on the bossa nova craze sweeping the jazz world in 1962. Ike's sensual tone imbues the breezy Brazilian vibe with a soulful dose of the blues to create a masterpiece featuring Kenny Burrell, Wendell Marshall, Willie Bobo & Garvin Masseaux. CHARANJIT SINGH - Synthesizing: Ten Ragas To A Disco Beat LP [Reissue/1982] (Light In The Attic)
Light in the Attic is honored to announce the long-awaited reissue of Synthesizing: Ten Ragas to a Disco Beat, the revolutionary 1982 album from composer and musician Charanjit Singh. Pairing Indian classical ragas with then-state-of-the-art Roland synthesizers and drum machines, Singh created an electronic masterpiece that was far ahead of it's time. Recording live at Mumbai's HMV studios, Singh married the past to the future-blending the ancient Indian tradition of ragas (a melodic framework, similar to a scale, from which musicians can improvise or compose) with pulsating, electronic dance beats. Released without fanfare, it faded into obscurity and Singh retired from recording to focus on private concerts, but that's where the story begins

VARIOUS - Soul Jazz Records Presents - Gipsy Rhumba: The Original Rhythm Of Gipsy Rhumba LP (Soul Jazz)
Newly remastered and repackaged, Soul Jazz Records' Gipsy Rhumba was first released to much-critical acclaim around the world in 2012, the album is a stunning mix of Latin, Funk, Flamenco and Rhumba rhythms. The album is like no other and remains the first album ever outside of Spain to seriously focus on the history of Gipsy Rhumba, one of the most interesting musical culture clashes ever that first took place in the early 1960s. In the Catalan region of Spain, Gypsies primarily known as the creators of Flamenco, came up with a fascinating hybrid style - Gipsy Rhumba - which blended together Latin and Rhumba music of Cuba and the Caribbean together with their own Flamenco as well as the emerging Rock and Roll from America.
